A second call connection method and a mobile communication terminal are provided to process a call request on a background screen where message transmission is not completed, after a message transmission request is transmitted. A message is transmitted/requested(S210). A call is connected/requested while the message is transmitted/requested(S220). As a connection request of the call is attempted, reception of a release request signal in a lower layer is skipped in order to prevent the call connection request from failing(S230). A call connection request cancel signal is received in a terminal from a message server(S240). Reception of the cancel request signal is ignored, and the call connection/request is maintained(S250,S260).
