A packing cylinder and expansion/compression joint using the same are provided to inject a preliminary packing material when injection of the packing material is emergently required. A packing cylinder comprises: a main packing cylinder(210) including an injection space and an adjusting bolt and a supplementary packing cylinder(220) provided at a side surface of the main packing cylinder and having an injection space communicated with the injection space. The supplementary packing cylinder is screwed on the main packing cylinder by an adjusting bolt. An expansion/ compression joint comprises: a chamber member(110), a stuffing box(100), a slip pipe(120), a packing cylinder(200), a first packing material and a second packing material.
