A method for transmitting data in a wireless network is provided to change a transmission mode for a data format which can not be transmitted in the transmission mode used in the wireless network, thereby efficiently using channel resources in wireless network. A method for transmitting data in a wireless network comprises the following steps of: transmitting a first message of requesting a change of a transmission mode to a coordinator for data transmission(S61); receiving a second message of admitting a change of the transmission mode from the coordinator(S64); and transmitting data to the coordinator or the other device in the changed transmission mode(S66).
