A method for keeping standby mode and providing remote wakeup on a computer connected to a network by defining wakeup patterns is provided to keep the standby mode state of a computer and wake up the computer by a terminal connected to a network at a desired time by a software method without additional hardware, thereby enabling a user to access an in-company computer or a home computer to perform necessary operations. A method for keeping standby mode and providing remote wakeup on a computer connected to a network by defining wakeup patterns comprises the following steps of: setting a wakeup pattern for satisfying keeping the standby mode and remote wakeup; assigning the wakeup pattern to a remote wakeup target computer(330); and transmitting the wakeup pattern to the remote wakeup target computer from a network terminal(310).
