An apparatus and a method for automatically moving a display device characteristic value measurement sensor and a display device having the apparatus are provided to locate the measurement sensor close to a screen of the display device such that a user measures a correct characteristic value without using an additional tool. An apparatus for automatically moving a display device characteristic value measurement sensor includes a measurement sensor(100), a transfer unit, a power unit, and a controller. The measurement sensor is located on a screen of a display device and measures a characteristic value of the display device. The transfer unit locates the measurement sensor at the center of the screen when the characteristic value is measured and moves the measurement sensor to one side or the display device after the characteristic value is measured. The power unit includes a spur gear combined with the transfer unit and a driving motor combined with the spur gear. The controller controls the operation of the transfer unit.
