A retardation compensation film, a display panel assembly having the same and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to fix an alignment direction by protecting discotic LCs by first and second protection films, thereby preventing change of alignment of the discotic LCs caused by external effects. A retardation compensation film comprises first and second protection films(210,220,310,320) and a retardation compensation layer(230,330). The second protection film faces the first protection film. The retardation compensation layer is interposed between the first and second protection films, and has discotic LCs arranged to be tilted on the first protection film. A tilt angle of the discotic LCs is about 30 to 60 degrees.
