摘要

The retardation value and its wavelength dependence are the important characteristics of compensation films for high-end LCD design. We have developed an accurate and effective method to measure a retardation and normalized birefringence of stretched polymeric and polymerized liquid crystal films. To increase a measurement accuracy a residual absorption at short wavelengths is included in our consideration. The exact low and high retardation values at any visible wavelength are possible to measure using the developed method.
