PURPOSE: A method for controlling roll force of a hot skin pass rolling mill is provided to obtain desired mechanical properties of a strip by automatically controlling roll force of the hot skin pass rolling mill by using a hardness measuring device. CONSTITUTION: Roll force is applied to a hot rolled strip through a work roll of a hot skin pass rolling mill(50). Hardness of the hot rolled strip is obtained by controlling elongation, roll force and tension of inlet and outlet sides of the hot rolled strip. Hardness of the hot rolled strip is measured by using a hardness measuring device(60). A variation of rough roll force caused by a hardness variation of the hot rolled strip is controlled through a feedback control process. Then, a sequence control process is carried out in order to control a compensation value depending on variations of a roughness degree and a size of the hot rolled strip, thereby automatically controlling roll force of the hot skin pass rolling roll(50).
