A method for manufacturing zinc oxide nanorods and nanowalls is provided to mass-produce the zinc oxide nanorods and nanowalls in a simple manner without requiring expensive equipment, substrate selection, and atmosphere control. A method for manufacturing zinc oxide nanorods and nanowalls includes the steps of: (a) diluting a zinc acetate powder with a diluent under atmospheric pressure at a temperature of 120 °C or higher to prepare a zinc acetate dilution as seeds; (b) diluting a zinc nitrate powder with distilled water at a temperature of 120 °C or higher to prepare a zinc nitrate solution; and (c) mixing the respective solutions prepared in the steps (a) and (b) to produce the zinc oxide nanorods and nanowalls. Further, the method for manufacturing zinc oxide nanorods and nanowalls additionally includes a step of (d) growing the zinc oxide nanorods and the nanowalls by leaving the mixed solution produced in the step (c) alone for certain time.
