The present invention relates to a cathode ray tube provided with a damper wire support spring , the tube 10 is and a tension mask (30 ) supported by the support frame 38 . Tension mask is sensitive to vibration and is suitable for mounting in a tension state in the cathode ray tube. A tension mask is attached to the opposite side of the tension mask support frame is provided with a damper wire support spring 60 extending therefrom . The damper wire support springs having a compliance portion (62) in contact with the surface of the tension mask and for supporting the damper wire 58 across the surface to damping the vibrations of the mask .
