A filtration/adsorption multistage wastewater treating apparatus for removing total phosphorous from effluent of a sewage disposal plant is provided to suppress eutrophication phenomena derived from phosphorous and use phosphorous efficiently by effectively applying the apparatus to the existing sewage disposal plant when improving an existing sewage disposal plant, and to remove and recover total phosphorous and dissolved phosphorous by using a phosphorous adsorption medium coupled to the filtration process in a main stream of effluent of the sewage disposal plant. In a wastewater treatment apparatus for treating effluent of a sewage disposal plant, a filtration/adsorption multistage wastewater treating apparatus for removing total phosphorous from effluent of the sewage disposal plant comprises: a flow control part(10) for controlling retention time according to flow rate, suspended solids, and total phosphorous of effluent flown in from a second settling pond; upflow pre-filtration equipment(20) including a synthetic resin filter media to which a predetermined flow rate of the effluent is supplied from the flow control part; filtration/adsorption equipment(30) having the effluent flown in a bottom part thereof from the pre-filtration equipment via bottom and top parts of the pre-filtration equipment; a blower(40) for desorbing material adsorbed onto the filter media using air and treated water when cleaning effluent of the pre-filtration equipment and the filtration/adsorption equipment; and a disinfection tank(50) for disinfecting pathogenic bacteria of the effluent after passing the effluent through the filtration/adsorption equipment.
