COMPOSITION COMPRISING MIXED EXTRACT OF JAPANESE APRICOT AND PEAR BLOSSOM HAVING ANTI-OXIDATIVE ACTIVITY

An anti-oxidative composition comprising the mixed extract of Japanese apricot(Prunus mume SIEB. et ZUCC flower) and pear blossom(Pyrus communis Linn. var. sativa DC flower) is provided to inhibit mushroom tyrosinase activity, melanin production of melan A, lipid peroxidation, elastase activity and hyalurodinase activity, and remove free radicals. A pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition for whitening the skin, inhibiting skin aging and improving wrinkles comprises 0.1-20 wt.%, preferably 0.1-10 wt.% of the mixed extract of Japanese apricot and pear blossom in a weight ratio of 1-10:1-5 which is prepared by extracting them with water, C1-C4 lower alcohol or a mixed solvent thereof, hexane, butylenes glycol, propylene glycol or glycerin, preferably water or water and ethanol mixed solvent, most preferably 50-90% ethanol mixed solvent, wherein the daily dosage of the composition is 0.0001-100 mg/kg, preferably 0.001-10 mg/kg.
