FIELD: power engineering; turbines.;SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, using automatic control system of active magnetic bearings, program of stepless shockless change of rigidity of active magnetic bearings at acceleration of rotor within maximum possible values and minimum possible values and vice versa is implemented and said cycle of change of rigidities can be repeated according to law completely excluding operation of rotor at resonance or in resonance zone of any of bending modes of rotor in range from zero to operating speeds, at acceleration of rotor starting from conditions with maximum possible rigidities of active magnetic bearings. Intermediate support with active magnetic bearings is installed on rotor, for instance, between rigidly connected compressor and turbine, rigidity of active magnetic bearings of said support being changed at acceleration of rotor from maximum possible values to zero and vice versa, and cycle can repeat itself. Active magnetic bearings of intermediate support are split, with division plane coinciding with division plane of turbomachine housing. Proposed support is designed so that it organizes not only section of gas of turbomachine (outlet of gas from compressor and supply of heated gas to turbine), but also provides cooling of active magnetic bearings of support proper.;EFFECT: materially reduced length of rotor at fitted-on intermediate support, improved safety and reliability of machine.;3 cl
