The device has a plate e.g. transparent disk, for positioning a carrier sheet with radio frequency identification (RFID) tags that are to be tested, and a set of tag-testing units is provided. Each testing unit is provided with an antenna (106) for coupling the RFID-tag, and a base frame (101) is provided for flexible attachment of the tag-testing units to align each of the tag-testing units to one of the RFID tags on the carrier sheet. Each testing unit has an optical signaling element for optical signaling of a testing output by a transparent disk. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing a radio frequency identification tag.
