The method involves assigning a line-shaped reference object (R1,R2,R3), defined within the geo data, to any number of toll required or toll free distance sections (A,A') of the road system. The reference object is examined whether the zigzag line (L) has an intersection (s) with a reference object (L). A toll or toll free distance section is assigned to the reference object as identified classification in positive case.
