The method involves guiding an inner horizontal drawing punch (32) horizontally to an outer horizontal drawing case (31). The inner horizontal drawing punch is received in relation to the outer horizontal drawing case during the shaping of a variable relative stroke delta. A sheet metal is attached to the inner horizontal drawing punch and the outer horizontal drawing case. A rest flange of a hollow body runs through a deformed zone of a draw ring (21). A relative stroke delta is controllably steered after a sequencing program.
