The device (1) has a light source (6) for generating excitation light within an investigation region (4). An optical image recording device (2) receives emission light (14) from the investigation region and records images from a first line of vision. A mirror arrangement is provided with a mirror (15) for deflecting emission light from the investigation region for image recording device such that the images of the investigation region are recordable from a second line of vision. An independent claim is also included for a method for determination of a three-dimensional position of a region marked by a fluorescence unit in a small animal.
