The method involves generating of counter pressure device (25,26) of a counter pressure (G) with stand-up pleat packages (4) from one of a folding unit (5) at the starting of the folding method. The counter-pressure is diversified during the folding method depending on a geometrical parameter of the stand-up pleat package. The geometrical parameter is the length of the stand-up pleat package in the folding direction (F). An independent claim is also included for a cutter folded machine for the execution of a method.
