The in-mold decoration molding tool has a mold upper part and a mold lower part, which are covered on their surfaces in the transparent molded part surface area (20) with a metal layer, which is harder than the material of the mold upper part and the mold lower part. The surfaces are defined, in one or multiple transparent molded area, by an additive overlay of a coarse structure and a fine structure. The fine structure is not linear and contains an average profile depth of less than 150 nano meters. An independent claim is also included for a method for the production of an in-mold decoration molding tool.
