The mold has a plastic carrier (1). A first decorative area (3) is formed on a carrier film. A varnish layer (7) is located on the plastic carrier. The carrier film is removable applied from the varnish layer. The first decorated portion is adjoined with a second decorative portion (5). The areas are separated by a partition groove (9) in the plastic material of the molded portion. The material thickness (s) of the carrier is set within a range of 4-7 mm, while horizontal groove depth (t) is set within a range of 0.3-0.7 mm and vertical groove depth (b) is set within a range of 0.8-1.2 mm. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a film-decorated plastic mold.
