The method involves providing a plan speed and a plan-trajectory as a set target by a vehicle guidance unit. A desired speed and a wheel turning angle are determined from the plan speed and the plan-trajectory by a vehicle control unit. Actual speed, distances and wheel turning angle are detected and adjusted by the vehicle control unit. A control input signal is formed for a controller i.e. proportional integral controller, from a web-feedback vector. A desired speed is determined from the plan speed, a web guiding vector and an actuating variable. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for steering a vehicle.
