The fastening section (6) of the wind deflector attaches to the chin guard (3). A flexible tongue (7) projects from the attachment, towards the user's chin and neck. The tongue is made from windproof, flexible material, preferably leather or plastic fibers. It is sufficiently stiff, or is so reinforced by a stiff material, that when the tongue is placed in a horizontal position, it does not sag down. The tongue is terminated at its free end, by a concave cut-out for the neck. The fastening section (6) is a curved tube; the chin guard is slid into this for attachment.
