The method involves determining the lane markings by a navigation system (NS) of position data (PD) or navigation data (ND). An active drive lane is determined from a vehicle by an artificial neuronal network (KNN) that has an input layer, an activation layer and an output layer. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for determining an active drive lane of a roadway from a vehicle.
