The method involves providing an image e.g. tomography image, with subsets of pixels, and-direct reversing of each subset of the pixels corresponding to a Hessian matrix, so that the pixels of each subset are simultaneously optimized with respect to a cost function. The subsets of the pixels are modified between iterations such that the pixel composition and the size of the subsets differ with each iteration. An independent claim is also included for a tomography imaging system comprising a processing component.
