Optically transparent dielectric coating thickness and refractive index determining method, involves determining theoretical reflectance minimum through numerical iteration, and finding thickness of coating to be determined
The method involves generating intensity distribution curves of front reflection and retroreflection based on incidence angle, and determining point of intersection of the intensity distribution curves. Brewster`s angle corresponding to the point of intersection is utilized for calculating refractive index of a coating. A theoretical reflectance minimum is determined through numerical iteration with preset different thicknesses of the coating till ascertainable angle corresponds to a common angle of the reflectance minimum. The thickness of the coating to be determined is found.
