The system has pedals (6) whose axle is fixed on parts (7) i.e. aluminum sheet, by its two sides. The sheets have their rotation articulated with an arm (18), and the arm is turned around its axle to draw a cord (23) by a sliding device (17) so as to drive a wheel (15) and its axle that turns another wheel. The latter wheel drives a pinion fixed on an axle of a rear wheel of a bicycle, and a ratchet wheel is welded on the axle of the wheel (15). A spring maintains a pawl in its position against the ratchet wheel. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a speed ratio changing system, comprising wheels (2) a device for folding a bicycle, comprising a bar (3) a storage battery comprising springs.
