Potassium tenatoprazole salts (I) containing an equimolar mixture of enantiomers of R and S configuration, crystallizing in the form of the conglomerate, are claimed, where the salts are potassium tenatoprazole dihydrate, potassium tenatoprazole dimethanolate, potassium tenatoprazole diethanolate and potassium tenatoprazole ethylene glycolate. Potassium tenatoprazole salts of formula (I) containing an equimolar mixture of enantiomers of R and S configuration, crystallizing in the form of the conglomerate, are claimed, where the salts are potassium tenatoprazole dihydrate, potassium tenatoprazole dimethanolate, potassium tenatoprazole diethanolate and potassium tenatoprazole ethylene glycolate. An independent claim is included for the use of (I) for the preparation of the sodium salt of enantiomerically pure tenatoprazole by opening of optical enantiomers of the corresponding potassium racemic salts, by crystallization process and transforming the optical enantiomers of potassium salt into the corresponding enantiomer of sodium salt.
