Coupling unit i.e. dry clutch, controlling method for motor vehicle, involves balancing torque by confidence level, estimated from ageing condition of vehicle and usage behavior of unit to adapt controlling of unit based on its wear out
The method involves determining the torque transmitted by a coupling unit i.e. dry clutch, from parameters representative of a state of a motor vehicle. The torque transmitted by the coupling unit is corrected by deducing a part of the estimated torque. The torque transmitted by the coupling unit is estimated according to a position of the coupling unit. The torque is balanced by an adaptable confidence level, estimated from an ageing condition of the vehicle and utilization behavior of the coupling unit for adapting the controlling of the coupling unit according to its wear out. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a method for controlling a coupling unit.
