PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parent-child relationship decision apparatus which prevents a drastic increase in processing time even when the number of channels to be analyzed is increased.;SOLUTION: The parent-child relationship decision apparatus comprises a cross correlation-energy calculating section, a quotient calculating section, and a parent-child relationship searching section. The cross correlation-energy calculating section acquires cross correlations between signal rows with respect to all combinations of two channels and energies of signal rows of all channels. The quotinent calculating section acquires values by dividing squares of the cross correlations by the energies are determined respectively with respect to all combination of channels. The parent-child relationship searching section confirms in order from large to small with respect to the quotinent values whether a parent channel of a channel j is decided or not. When a parent channel of the channel j is not decided and when other channels are not sibling channels, a channel corresponding to the next largest quotinent value is decided to be a parent channel of the channel j.
