PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for eliminating runout and an apparatus for eliminating runout, capable of easily modifying the runout of the steel spoke wheel of a compact motorcycle caused by distortion in the steel spoke.;SOLUTION: A pair of shaft supporting poles 3, 3 are installed in a standing manner on a base 1 with a predetermined interval. The wheel is set in such a state as to be equal to the actual travelling state through an axle shaft 7 installed horizontally between the pair of shaft supporting poles 3, 3. Further, a servo mechanism 5 for pressuring a wheel rim R1 laterally is disposed on at least one side of the shaft supporting poles 3.
