PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping motor which is capable of surely retaining an output shaft at a prescribed position and holding down the product cost to be low, and measuring instrument equipment using the stepping motor.;SOLUTION: The stepping motor 1 has a rotor gear 3 which rotates with the rotation of a rotor magnet 2, an intermediate gear 4, an output gear 5 which engages with a second gear 4b of the intermediate gear 4, an exciting coil which is disposed around the rotor magnet 2, generates a rotating magnetic field by a driving waveform outputted from a control means to it so as to give a rotating force to the rotor magnet 2, a first rotating shaft 10 which is the center of rotation of the rotor magnet 2, a second rotating shaft 11 which is the center of rotation of the intermediate gear 4, and the output shaft 6 which is the center of rotation of the output gear 5. Herein the second rotating shaft 11 or the output shaft 6 is formed of a magnetic member, and on the occasion when the rotating magnetic field is not generated in the exciting coil, the output shaft 6 is retained at the prescribed position by the mutual attraction with the rotor magnet 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
