PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a cutting chip disposing property and therby to provide good quality of a finished surface and a good tool life.;SOLUTION: A throw-away chip 1 has an approximately tabular shape and is provided with: rake faces 2 formed on the upper surface; clearance surfaces 3 formed on an outer periphery that intersect with the rake faces 2; and a cutting edge 4 formed in the intersection ridge of the rake faces 2 and the clearance surfaces 3. The throw-away chip 1 is further provided with a breaker groove 5 for breaking chips formed so as to extend in the outer periphery direction at the clearance surfaces 3.
