PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine and method for vertical bag making, filling, and packaging, which produces two parallelly connected bags of commercial products at a high production efficiency.;SOLUTION: A strip of packaging material is drawn from two parallel vertical bag making cylinders 2a and 2b so that both the sidewise ends of the strip of packaging material 7 are bent inside between the bag making cylinders and surround the bag making cylinders. The ends 7b of the folded packaging material and its middle portion 7a extending between the bag making cylinders are vertically sealed, thereby forming the packaging material into two cylinders corresponding to the bag making cylinders. The packaging material formed into the two cylinders is sidewise sealed from a direction perpendicular to the drawing direction. Thereafter, the packaging material is drawn by a predetermined amount. Then, the packaging material formed into the two parallelly connected cylinders are filled with contents through the bag making cylinders. After filling, the packaging material in the form of the two cylinders is sidewise sealed above the packaged contents, and is separated along the upper sidewise seal.
