PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light diesel oil identifying method and a light diesel oil monitor capable of easily and reliably identifying illegal light diesel oil at low costs.;SOLUTION: The light diesel oil identifying method for identifying illegal light diesel oil containing components in addition to those of light diesel oil includes both the color determination process for detecting a chromaticity value of a sample to be identified by an ASTM color testing method and comparing the chromaticity value with the chromaticity threshold value and the area value determination process for measuring a spectrum of a first differential value of absorbance by the sample and comparing an area value of a prescribed wavelength region of the spectrum as a characteristic value with an area threshold value. The sample is identified as to whether it is illegal light diesel oil or not through the use of comparison results in the color determination process and the area value determination process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
