PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform fixation by bone growth by coating the surface of a stem made of a fiber reinforced resin with hydroxyapatite as in the case of a metallic stem.;SOLUTION: Titanate ion is produced by vapour-depositing TiO2 on the surface of the stem made of the fiber reinforced resin, and bringing an NaOH aqueous solution into contact with the vapour-deposited surface. The coating of hydroxyapatite titanate is formed on a TiO2 vapour-deposited film surface layer by bonding ionized calcium ion Ca2+ and phosphoric acid ion PO43- to the titanate ion on the surface layer of the vapour-deposited film in the aqueous solution of the hydroxyapatite for medical use. The precipitate layer of the hydroxyapatite is piled on the hydroxyapatite quality layer, thereby performing the hydroxyapatite coating on the stem surface.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
