PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record information in a depth direction of a groove as an information storage medium where information is stored by forming irregular patterns.;SOLUTION: Inorganic resist sensitive to a thermal reaction associated with the irradiation with a laser beam, preferably an incomplete oxide of a transition metal, is used as a resist material of a master disc. A Laser beam is applied to the master disc by changing power at least in three steps based on input information, and the depth of a thermal reaction section in the inorganic resist is changed for recording information.
