PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise accuracy of demand forecast of merchandise whose sales amount increases at the end of the year, and whose sales amount rapidly decreases at the beginning of the year.;SOLUTION: This demand forecast system 100 is provided with an adjusted sales DB18 for storing information showing sales amount for every merchandise in the past about a plurality of pieces of merchandise; a year-end and year begin processing part 110 for performing year-end and year begin processing; and a forecast value calculation part 150. The year-end and year begin processing part 110 compares the first sales amount in a first period with the second sales amount in a second period, and extracts merchandise whose first sales amount has increased or decreased from the second sales amount, and calculates a trend coefficient showing the extent of the increase or the decrease in the sales amount in the first period of the merchandise for every merchandise on the basis of information showing the sales amount of the extracted merchandise stored in an adjusted sales DB18.
