PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein a coloring agent is required not to be mixed in an adjacent pixel, by providing an ink-repellent protrusion on a black matrix, although an inkjet system is favorable for allowing a micro-fine application, as the coloring agent is difficult to be applied directly on the pixel when a pitch of the pixels in a liquid crystal color filter gets short.;SOLUTION: A masking solvent is applied onto the adjacent pixel before applying the coloring agent by inkjet, and the coloring agent is applied before the solvent is dried off. A solvent having polarity different from that of the coloring agent is used therein as the masking solvent. The coloring agent swollen out from the pixel is repelled by the masking solvent, to be returned to the pixel to be applied. A surface property of the black matrix does not get worse because the masking solvent is evaporated off.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
