PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry metallized film capacitor which can be made safe, small in size and light in weight by using a metallized film and using no metallic container and insulating oil.;SOLUTION: This film capacitor is formed by overlapping and winding a pair of metallized films, thermally spraying metal onto end faces of the wound film to form capacitor elements 1, connecting the elements 1 in series, coating the outer side peripheries of the elements 1 with an insulator material 4 to form capacitor element bodies 6, connecting the wound end faces of the element bodies 6 in parallel by means of an external lead terminal 5 to form an assembly 7, and forming an insulating coating on wound end faces of the assembly 7 and on side faces of the element bodies in a recessed manner.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
