PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid stocking materials in excess due to demand forecasting errors, while preventing the order quantity of materials from being insufficient. PSOLUTION: A computer is caused to implement a step for reading an additional necessary order quantity at a certain time from an additional necessary order quantity storage means in which the additional necessary order quantity of materials used in the manufacture of a product, i.e., the quantity needed to be delivered from a supplier but yet to be ordered, is stored in association with the times to use the materials; a reserve capacity data reception step for receiving, a plurality of times and in time series, reserve capacity data indicative of reserve capacity, i.e., the capacity of the supplier to supply materials, in association with the times; a storage step for storing the reserve capacity data received in a reserve capacity data storage means; a reading step for reading from the reserve capacity data storage means the reserve capacity at a certain time included in the latest reserve capacity data; and an additional order quantity calculation step for calculating an additional order quantity as a quantity to be actually ordered among the additional order quantity on the basis of the additional necessary order quantity read and the latest reserve capacity read.
