THE ISOLATION OF MICRO QUANTITIES OF URANIUM WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE DETERMINATION OF ALPHA RADIOACTIVITY DUE TO URANIUM IN CERTAIN NATURAL MATERIALS

Precipitation procedures are described for the concentration of micro quantities of uranium from macro quantities of many elements. The uranium is finally isolated as the diethyl dithiocarbamate complex.nThe procedure has been applied to the determination of alpha activity due to uranium in vegetation, soil and river water and has been found to be specific for uranium in these materials.
