PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance accuracy of predicting the amount of camera shake in an exposure period. PSOLUTION: The camera shake preventing device includes: a shutter which performs exposure for imaging; a camera shake amount calculation circuit which calculates a representative value that is representative of a camera shake amount signal showing the amount of camera shake associated with imaging in a first period after fully depressing the shutter; a waveform shape comparator circuit which compares the waveform shape of the camera shake amount signal in the first period with the expected waveform shape of the camera shake amount signal in a second period in which the exposure is expected to be performed; and a camera shake amount prediction circuit which predicts the value of the camera shake amount signal in the second period from the calculated representative value of the camera shake amount signal and a result obtained by comparing the two waveform shapes, so as to determine the speed of the shutter.
