PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the strength of a camera shake preventing function. PSOLUTION: This camera shake preventing device includes: a setting means (a user interface 15) for receiving setting the strength of camera shake preventing control; an input means (analog-digital converting parts 32a, 32b) for receiving the input of a detection signal output from an angular speed detecting means in picking up an image by an imaging element 11; a determining means (a processor 33) for determining a camera shake rotating angle allowable around the axis in the image pick-up state of the imaging element so that the stronger the strength set by the setting means is, the smaller the allowable rotating angle is made by stages or continuously; and a calculating means (the processor 33) for calculating a shutter speed based on a value obtained by dividing the allowable camera shake rotating angle determined by the determining means by the angular speed obtained by the detection signal input through the input means.
