PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable magnetic flaw detection located close to an equalizer pulley.;SOLUTION: In this magnetic flaw detection apparatus 10, the magnetic saturation state is acquired, by exciting a wire rope 1 near the equalizer pulley 2a, and a leakage flux Φ is detected by a magnetic sensor 7 arranged around the wire rope 1, to thereby detect damages to the wire rope 1. The apparatus 10 has a magnet 3a for exciting the wire rope 1 on both positions, separated a little from a non-magnetic pulley 2a, and a magnetic sensor array 6 provided around the wire rope 1 between the end of the magnet 3a for exciting the wire rope 1 and the pulley 2a and having magnetic sensors 7 mounted on the inner surface, facing the wire rope 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
