A cancer therapeutic agent comprising a synoviolin function-inhibiting polypeptide as an active ingredient

We succeeded in identifying the binding region of synoviolin protein with p53. Further, it was found that the Synoviolin partial polypeptide comprising the binding region has a function of activating p53 by competitively inhibiting the binding to p53 with Synoviolin. Furthermore, by inhibiting the function of Synoviolin, the cytoplasmic retention of p53, the localization of p53 in the nucleus, the binding of Synoviolin protein and p53 protein, and the phosphorylation of p53 protein are enhanced. And ubiquitination of the p53 protein was found to be inhibited. The partial polypeptide is useful as a p53 activator or a cancer therapeutic agent.
