The invention relates to the rolling production and can be used on the continuous section-rolling mills for rolling of the section bar of wide dimensional and brand assortment. A system of roll passes of a roughing group of stands of continuous section-rolling mill consists of four oval and four round passes alternating as the process advance. The oval passes are located in the odd stands of roughing group of mill, and the round passes - in the even stands. The ratio of the width of pass to the depth of the groove cut in oval passes makes 4.60-6.90, while the ratio of the width of pass to the depth of groove cut in the round passes makes 2.30-2.50. In the case the widths of oval passes of system beginning from the first one in the direction of manufacturing process are correlated at a specific ratio. The widths of round passes of system beginning from the first pass as the process advance are also correlated at a specific ratio. Technical result consists in the guarantee of correct filling of passes with rolled metal. The invention provides for possibility of using the initial billets with increased dimensions of sections for producing the intermediate breakdown bar with specified parameters of quality and accuracy of geometric parameters, which are used at production of all profiles of actual assortment of continuous section-rolling mill.
