FREE FATTY ACIDS FOR INTERFERING WITH GROWTH OF FUSARIUM GRAMINEARUM

The present application discloses methods and compositions for interferingwith the growth of thefungus Fusarium graminearum, by exposing the fungus to free fatty acidsexhibiting antimicrobialactivity. These compositions include compositions comprising the free fattyacids: capric, myistoleicand lauric acids. The application further discloses that these free fattyacids may be derived fromcream, such as whey cream, as a virtually unlimited non-limiting source forthese molecules.
