A wheel assembly includes: a hub (116) adapted to be mounted for rotationabout an axis and defining a housing forenclosing a gear set (G), the hub having a generally cylindrical outersurface; a ring (118) surrounding the outer surface of the hub;and a generally cylindrical rim (22A) surrounding at least a portion of thehub, the rim adapted to carry a tire and having a radiallyinwardly extending mounting flange (24A).
