The present invention makes use of shared media, such as a residential passive coax distribution in which isolation is purposely provided between user devices, such as TV sets or VCRs, to prevent echoes or other cross-interference. This new approach overcomes the isolation between end user ports by providing a hub or central device at the entry point of services. This will allow an optimum cost-effective solution for high-speed data distribution in a shared media environment.
