The invention relates to a method for the production of an electrically insulating cast body having one or more electronic components, which are arranged in a casting chamber made of plastic that is filled with an electrically insulating casting compound, wherein the walls of a partial cavity of the casting chamber are pretreated such that the adhesion of the casting compound to the walls of the partial cavity is different from the adhesion of the casting compound to the walls of the remaining cavity. The invention further relates to a base for a lamp, particularly for a high-pressure discharge lamp, having at least one receiving space for electric components of the lamp that are embedded at least in sections in an electrically insulating casting compound, wherein the walls of a partial cavity of the casting chamber are pretreated such that the adhesion of the casting compound to the walls of the partial cavity is clearly different from the adhesion of the casting compound to the walls of the remaining cavity.
